Black Dog - Devon Folklore
Black Dogs feature heavily in Devon Folklore. Whether it's Wisht Hounds roaming through the mists of Dartmoor or Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's most famous Sherlock Holmes novel "The Hound of the Baskervilles" the iconic imagery of phantom dogs with red eyes is nearly always how the legend is portrayed.
Closer to Crediton, there is a different "Black Dog" and legend, and that is tale being highlighted in this short community animation.
The animation has been produced in conjunction with student and recent graduate animators, as a community project to gain experience and create assets for their portfolios.
Mentored and guided by Daniel, our Creative Director, the students have been learning working to creative briefs as a team, and how that impacts the work they produce.
The animation will be on view across the 2 days at the St Boniface Centre and a copy will also be given to the Folklore Library and Archive in Crediton, to sit alongside some other Black Dog Artifacts
